Industry Transformation At Growth Master Summit 2025...

Greg Cummings, CEO of Power100, chats with Abby Binder, CEO of Abby Home, at the Growth Mastery Summit 2025 in Dulles, Virginia, to unpack what sustainable growth really looks like in home improvement today

February 2026 – Dulles, Virginia – The Growth Mastery Summit 2025, hosted by Dave Yoho Associates from October 28–30, 2025, brought together top home improvement leaders for three days of strategy, leadership, and growth-focused learning for business owners, executives, sales leaders, and marketers in home improvement, remodeling, and specialty trades. At the center of the conversation, Power100—the only unbiased third-party platform that ranks the best CEOs and partners in the home improvement industry using a proprietary 5-layer ranking system—highlighted how leaders like Abby Binder, CEO of Abby Home, are building resilient, culture-driven companies in today’s market.

Greg Cummings, CEO of Power100, used the Summit to surface the strategies behind sustainable growth, moderating a high-impact panel and conducting rapid-fire interviews with award-winning contractors and executives. His conversation with Binder, an Eagles Award winner, became a defining example of what long-term, stable growth can look like in a demanding industry.

Abby Binder and Abby Home: Stability, Culture, and Intentional Growth

During their interview, Cummings congratulated Binder on receiving the prestigious Eagles Award and noted how frequently other leaders look at her operation as a benchmark for culture and consistency. Binder described how that recognition felt and what drives her team: “It’s been very humbling just being among all these legends and now Eagles. It’s been a great experience”.

Cummings pointed out how Abby’s team stayed aggressive through disruption: keeping marketing on, pushing resources into growth, and leaning into opportunity when others pulled back. Binder explained that their advantage is rooted in stability and freedom from outside pressure: “We don’t have to worry about growing too fast or have the stress of private equity behind us where we have to hit these locations and go, go, go. We can go at our pace—not a slow pace, but one where we know we’re growing the right way”.

Looking ahead, she highlighted focus areas for Abby Home: “We’re excited about our bath division continuing to grow. Our team is stable. We’ve been able to retain a lot of our team members, so that’s huge for us, and we’re just going to keep building our culture”. As Cummings closed, he called her “one of the best in the business,” underscoring why leaders like Binder are central to the stories Power100 tells.

Power100’s Mission: Elevating Independent Leaders

Throughout the Summit, Cummings reiterated Power100’s focus: “We travel around the country and interview and talk to thousands of people each year, leaders in the space. We focus on the independent, privately held companies. Why? Because that’s our niche. We believe that’s the best solution for the homeowner over the long term because we are able to do a little bit more than if it’s managed by a spreadsheet or a board”.

Power100’s work at the event included a panel where Cummings interviewed Jared Arminger, CEO of Southern National Roofing, and Ryan Keene, CEO of MODE Renovation, about culture, process, leads, closing, customer experience, technology, and learning. Cummings emphasized that the toughest growth stages are often earlier in the journey: “If you’re going from 1 million to 5 million or 5 million to 10 million, these guys are going to get down to it. They’re going to open up their businesses”.

Building Culture and Foundation for Rapid Growth

Arminger shared how Southern National Roofing pivoted during COVID-19 from a small Maryland operation to a roofing-focused business approaching 25 million dollars in revenue. “We had a much smaller business in Maryland pre-COVID. We were always a canvass-based organization. COVID happened, door knocking in that state was declared non-essential. So we pivoted down to a state that was open for business in North Carolina,” he explained.

The company expanded from one location to four in nine months and later to eight, demonstrating what is possible when a strong culture supports a clear strategy. “In a canvassing environment, culture is one of the most important parts of having a cohesive team because when the guys are out there in the field, they are by themselves. If they don’t have that understanding of what it is we’re all doing… they’re focused on the job, which can be a grind,” Arminger said.

Process, Accountability, and Scalable Systems

On the process side, Arminger underscored the importance of consistent execution: “The biggest challenge we’ve had going back to day one is always enough good leads. The thing that ultimately drives high quality, high volume leads at a reasonable price is having all of our reps in the field be accountable to a script and a process. We know over at this point millions of interactions, if they do what we teach them to do, the way that we teach them to do it, the results are wildly consistent”.

He added that scale becomes more manageable with clear systems: “It actually becomes easier to manage at scale because the larger the sample size, the more predictable the outcome should be. I can look at one spreadsheet walking into an office I haven’t been in a couple of months and figure out exactly what’s off”.

Leadership as Daily Performance

Cummings framed leadership as something visible and modeled: “You are an actor in your business. You are on stage every single day at your office. How you approach your day, when you get there, what you do with your time, your people will mirror you. It’s just like our kids. Your kids will never be who you tell them to be. They’re going to be who you are, who they see, who they’re around”.

That lens connects directly with how leaders like Abby Binder build durable companies—by aligning behavior, culture, and expectations over time.

Voices from the Summit: Leaders on Growth, Focus, and Mindset

Power100’s rapid-fire interviews captured the broader impact of the Summit across the industry:

  • Paul Burleson, Senior Accounts Manager at Westlake Royal Building Products, highlighted Power100’s contribution: “Greg Cummings, Power100, brings some of the top professionals in our industry, giving us insight on what great leaders are about, what it takes to be a great leader and what the future of our industry looks like. Power100 as always goes that next level to make sure they bring the right people in the right place at the right time to get the next generation in the direction they need to go”.
  • Marvin Peachey, CEO of Georgia Door & Gate, described a mindset shift: “I’ve got to change my lens and start looking at my business as a business and not a charity. I have got to start realizing the value that my company brings and not be scared to charge for that value”.
  • Patrick Readyhough, President at Pond Roofing & Exteriors, and Taylor Carroll, Marketing Director at Pond Roofing & Exteriors, both focused on simplification: “One big takeaway I’ve gotten so far is just simplify to scale,” Carroll noted. Readyhough recalled advice from Brian Elias: “You’re overthinking this, just simplify this. Go solve a bigger problem, not that smaller problem”.
  • Willie Smith, of W.J Smith Construction Roofers, captured the power of niching: “Got to niche down. Can’t keep doing everything. You can make money doing a little bit of everything, but you can’t scale a major organization doing everything”.
  • Dustin Steele, General Manager at Pronto Plumbing Heating Air Drains, shared his focus for 2026: “We’re really trying to take [the business] to the next level and really scale into a larger operation—starting at the end goal and working your way back and breaking it down backwards”.

Andrei Miadzvedzik, owner of Siding & Windows Wizards LLC, joined other high-growth leaders looking for proven systems and models.

Relationships, Events, and Long-Term Growth

Greg Olsen reflected on how events like the Summit rebuild vital connections that can fade over time: “What I learned yesterday is how much the relationships matter. We really started to lose that not going to conferences for so long. We started to come back going, everyone up there in those Eagles, they all knew each other. They were getting that camaraderie, building each other up”.

Olsen also pointed to aggressive future plans: “We have a very aggressive marketing plan. We started our hockey stick growth a year ago… it’s going to be continuing to slam the foot on the gas pedal as fast as we can”.
