About Gerry

Power100 is a national publication that has narrowed down the Nation’s top 100 CEOs. Our exclusive database boasts a formidable 7,600 CEOs, and after scouring through them all with our 5-layer proprietary ranking system, we proudly announce Founder, President and CEO Gerry Rogers as the #90 CEO in the country.

Gerry Rogers is the Founder, President, and CEO of Mr. Rogers Windows, a window and door replacement company that has been serving homeowners throughout the Hampton Roads area since 1986. What began with Gerry installing windows in homes has grown into one of the most respected Renewal by Andersen affiliates in the nation, with Gerry becoming known as “your neighborhood window replacement guy.”

When Gerry began installing windows in 1986, he wasn’t planning on acquiring the company. But a twist of fate made that option unexpectedly possible. With the blind ambition and enthusiasm of a young, naive entrepreneur, he made one of the riskiest moves of his life at just 24 years old. While Gerry admits he didn’t have the conventional wisdom to understand how risky this was, the replacement window business grabbed him hook, line, and sinker. His character and values were proven to his very first customer, Jim Powell, who took a chance on him. “I just told him the truth,” Gerry says. “I told him I would do the work right… and Jim’s heart went out to us, and he gave me the chance to make it right. That’s the feeling I want with every customer.”

Gerry Rogers possesses exceptional strengths in building trust-based customer relationships, developing employee talent, and creating systems that ensure consistent quality. His philosophy of providing what any friend, neighbor, or family member would—sincere help and a commitment to do the right thing—has been the foundation of Mr. Rogers Windows’ success for nearly four decades.

After 15 years honing a series of predictable, trainable, repeatable processes for success in every area of his window and door business—from sales and administration to installation to service—Gerry created Mr. Rogers University Training Center to promote a more reliable, ethical home improvement industry and train his employees for future expansion. Mr. Rogers Windows uses only certified installers and never hires subcontractors, with all employees properly trained through this comprehensive program following step-by-step installation procedures.

Gerry’s commitment to his team is demonstrated through an industry-leading profit-sharing plan that gave back $1.5 million to employees in a recent year. This investment in people has created a culture where 87% of employees approve of his leadership according to Glassdoor, and 75% would recommend working at Mr. Rogers Windows to a friend. His leadership philosophy—”We built a team of good people, we carry the right products, and I still lead them to do the right thing”—permeates every aspect of the organization.

Under Gerry Rogers’ leadership, Mr. Rogers Windows has achieved extraordinary recognition within the Renewal by Andersen network. The company has been named “Best of the Best” out of 100+ RbA affiliates nationwide three of the last five years—a distinction that reflects the company’s commitment to excellence in customer service and installation quality.

In 2006, at Andersen Corporation’s request, Gerry opened a Charlotte, NC branch, demonstrating the industry leader’s confidence in his operational model. The company has grown to 51-200 employees and recently broke ground on a new Chesapeake facility in 2024 to accommodate continued expansion—evidence that the business model Gerry developed continues to drive double-digit growth decades after founding.

Gerry’s vision extends beyond business success. He created the MRW Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to provide needed support to reach their full potential. The Foundation addresses causes including poverty, injustice, education, healthcare, housing, environmental concerns, at-risk youth, military veterans, emergency response efforts, and faith-based organizations. Gerry dreams of growing the Foundation’s endowment to over $20 million, creating an outlet for his profound sense of responsibility to the communities he serves and the legacy he hopes to leave behind. The Foundation has supported organizations including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and The Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation, reflecting Gerry’s belief that business success brings responsibility to give back.

The
Company

When Gerry Rogers began installing windows in 1986, he wasn’t planning on acquiring the company. But a twist of fate made that option unexpectedly possible. With the blind ambition and enthusiasm of a young, naive entrepreneur, he made one of the riskiest moves in his life. At 24 years old, Gerry admits he didn’t have the conventional wisdom to understand how risky this was. Even so, the replacement window business grabbed him hook, line, and sinker.

Gerry had proven his character and values to Jim Powell, the very first customer who took a chance on him. Jim believed Gerry would live up to his promise of doing whatever it took to satisfy him. “I just told him the truth,” Gerry says. “I told him I would do the work right… and Jim’s heart went out to us, and he gave me the chance to make it right. That’s the feeling I want with every customer.”

The business model clicked and Gerry had his formula for success. Over the next several years, Mr. Rogers Windows achieved double-digit growth and the company expanded. True to his entrepreneurial spirit, Gerry decided to invest in property to develop his own building from the ground up. In May 2000, the new facility opened.
