Why Rick Wuest
Is The Expert

Rick Wuest is the President and CEO of Thompson Creek Window Company — and the #15 ranked home improvement CEO in the nation according to Power100's proprietary 5-layer evaluation system. A second-generation leader who took the reins of his family's window manufacturing business in 2001, Rick has transformed Thompson Creek from a small regional manufacturer into the largest and most successful replacement window company in the mid-Atlantic region, employing over 400 professionals. Rick joined the family business in the late 1990s when it was still known as Mid-Lantic Corp., a lifestyle window manufacturer founded by his father in 1980. Recognizing the need for a fundamental shift, he changed the company's name to Thompson Creek Window Company, relocated operations, and made the pivotal decision to take products directly to the consumer for the first time. This bold strategic move transformed the business model and fueled rapid growth. Today, Thompson Creek operates an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Landover, Maryland, producing energy-efficient replacement windows, doors, gutters, siding, and roofing for homeowners throughout the D.C. metro area. Rick's leadership has earned significant industry recognition, including being named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner in Maryland's Family Business category in 2014, and receiving the CEO Today USA Award in 2019. Under his guidance, Thompson Creek has become a trusted community partner, supporting organizations including Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (named In-Kind Donor of the Year in 2018), Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Homes for Our Troops. Rick holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Penn State University and also owns St.Claire Window & Door Corp.
